Real Estate practice varies greatly throughout the country. Some of these differences are the result of local customs and some are the result of legal differences in transfering title. The following suggestions are offered as a guideline to buying a home in Rockland. It shoudl be remembered that there is no exact procedure to follow but these steps should take some of the mystery out of how thigns are done in our area.
First - get to know your sales agent and broker. The better the sales agent knows you and your family's needs and lifestyle the easier it will be to find that one "Right" home.
Be loyal to your sales agent and they will work night and day on your behalf.
If you see a "For Sale" sign or ad in any paper, discuss it with your sales agent. They may have scheduled it for showing or they may have a good reason for excluding it owing to condition or availability.
